History of the Hua Hin Railway Station

As with any old monument or building there usually is a story to tell. The Hua Hin Railway Station was build in the 1920’s by King Rama VI along with Klai Kangwon Palace, which was intended to be a summer residence for the King and Queen. This time marked the starting point of an evolution for Hua Hin, as its popularity significantly increased shortly after Klai Kangwon Palace was build.

In 1923, Maruekhathaiyawan Palace was built, which has a similar design language as Hua Hin Railway Station.Hua Hin was developed into a vacation retreat for many people travelling from Singapore and Penang. The train station is located near the centre of Hua Hin at the west end of Damnoern Kasem Road. Its opening hours are from 7am until 11pm.

Today, Hua Hin is very well known among tourists and remains one of Thailand’s favorite travel destinations. It now has a vast variety of luxury beach resorts as well as lively markets and even a decent nightlife scene to attract people from all ages.
