Phuket is the largest Island in Thailand, located on the South of Thailand. It is large enough to be called as one province in Thailand with the area of 543 square kilometers. Phuket is considered as one of the most chosen place to visit for both travel and retirement.

Beaches

There are number of famous beaches in Phuket such as Patong, Kata, Karon, Nai Harn, Rawai and many more. These beaches are not only known for their beauty but also the excitement of nightlife on street along the beaches.

 

Wat Chalong

Beside beautiful beaches, there are many places for tourist to visit and enjoy the root of traditional and culture of Phuket. First place is Wat Chalong, a famous Buddhist temple of Phuket. You could feel the sense of genuine Thai culture by seeing how locals spend their time at this temple.

Phuket Old Town

Old town Phuket is located around Deebuk, Talang and Yaowarach roads. Along the road, there are buildings that influence by Chinese and Western cultures. The architectures are known as Sino-Portuguese style. On these roads are full with Phuket’s traditional and cultures, you could still find shops that sell food and clothes in very authentic style. 

 

Promthep Cape

Promthep cape (or Laem Promthep in Thai) is one of the best view points of Phuket. It is only 2 kilometers from Rawai beach.  You could walk until the end of Promthep cape for a view of infinite pool or stay here until evening to experience unforgettable sunset view. At Promthep cape also has a lighthouse and many shops and restaurants for you to enjoy.

Sarasin Bridge

Sarasin Bridge is a first bridge which connected Phuket and main land of Phang nga province. In the past you will have to travel via this bridge to get to Phuket, However nowadays this bridge is no longer use for traveling, it becomes another view point of Phuket

Sarasin Bridge is famous for its tale of love. The story of a couple who jumped from this bridge together in order to forever be together. Beside the tragic love story, this bridge is a place to enjoy stunning scenery especially in the evening. 

 

Travelling

To travel to Phuket, train service is not available. The only two possible travelling methods are driving by cars, vans and taxi or flying by airplane

To travel within Phuket, you could use services of 2-taew or Tuk-Tuk to go around the Island. An option of rental motorcycle is also available.
