We believe you have all heard about the beautiful beach of Pattaya that is not far from the busy capital of Bangkok. A lot of tourists might choose to fly to the Southern part of Thailand for the holiday spent at the Andaman Sea, but for those who have limited budget and time, Pattaya is the answer. Although Pattaya has been stormed with crowds of Chinese and Russian tourists, it is famous for its vibrant nightlife and fun activities to do. For a family outing, there’s plenty of places that you can bring your kids and spend your long holiday there. We have a list of places in Pattaya that families or animal-lovers should visit:

1. Pattaya Elephant Village

Highly recommended for foreigners to interact with the friendly and iconic elephants of Thailand. If you’re concerned about welfare and animal abuse, it is safe to know that the fees paid by visitors contribute to the very survival and well-being of the elephants. Unlike spending time at any normal zoo, at Pattaya Elephant Village, you get to go very close to the elephants, wash them and even feed them bananas. There’s even a performance by the well-trained animals that is not only entertaining but very informative. More than that, visitors can ride an elephant on a planned path which is always a nice experience for first comers.

2. Sri Racha Tiger Zoo

A zoo in Sri Racha, a city on the outskirts of Pattaya, claiming to look after a population of 200 tigers and around 10,000 crocodiles, the largest such populations in the world. There’s a lot of activities to do such as feeding the animals and even taking picture with the baby tiger. It’s a lovely place to spend time with the whole family to see all ages of tigers, elephants, water buffalo, crocodile and large variety of wild birds and small lizards.

3. Monkey island

The tiny island located just off the coast of Pattaya is home to hundreds of monkeys which have become accustomed to human contact because of the daily visits from boats carrying tourists. Their favorite foods are bananas, nuts, and most of all, watermelon. It is important to note that while the monkeys are generally friendly and approachable, some can be wild especially when they’re hungry. Mostly, these primates can be seen along the southern and eastern shores of the island waiting eagerly for visitors. Apart from the monkeys, there is also a Buddhist shrine guarded by a mermaid statue making for an attractive spot. The very interesting thing about these Samae monkeys are their main diet that consisted of crabs, making them acquire long tails and swim very well.

4. Underwater World Pattaya

Underwater World Pattaya provides an opportunity for families to enjoy their weekend along with exploring a variety of the underwater creatures without having to dive in the ocean. It is a place to spend your day for both adults and children to learn about exotic colorful fishes and corals as well as a walk through the 100-meter long glass tunnel through the aquarium. This is a great chance to get very close and intimate to exotic and marine animals such as the mighty sharks, stingrays and many species of colorful tropical fish abundant in the Thai seas.

In the end, Pattaya has more than just a gorgeous beach and amazing seafood. There’s plenty of activities to do for families, friends and couples waiting for you to explore during your stay at the apartment for rent Pattaya.
